In Revision 5 (& previous plans 1-4), passive ventilation was accomplished up & out of the interior roof access stairwell. With the removal of that structure, the ventilation plans are being revisited to see if the home can still seek LEED certification. The green arrows show the prior planned ventilation. The stairwell also provided a natural daylight shaft to the lower levels, reducing need for artifical light.
The BLUE line is the height of the previous Cooper Beech tree in the courtyard. With the destruction of that tree, the view from the uphill main floor has changed. The highest point in Revision 5 was just below the level of the main floor of the uphill house & deck - indicated by the yellow line. The previous plan 5 was BETTER than before the fire, and approved Revision 6 which removed the roof access, will yield approximately the same view.
